Joanne Gunderson Carner

many as the nation’s top woman golfer, she won 42 titles in LPGA
competition. She was a five-time United States amateur champion. She
began her remarkable amateur and professional golf career in
Kirkland and is a member of the LPGA Hall of Fame. |

Chuck Congdon
Inducted: 1978
Recognized as one
of the State's great teaching and playing golf professionals.
Credited with teaching 10 National champions. Winner of several
major golf championships including the Canadian Open and numerous
regional titles. |

Rod Funseth
Inducted: 1999
Spokane native
Rod Funseth was a three-time PGA tour winner, qualifying as an
exempt player for 17 straight years from 1963-1979. One of the long
hitters of his time, he won the Phoenix Open in 1965, the Los
Angeles Open in 1973 and the Greater Hartford Open in 1978 with a
264, the lowest 71-hole score of the year. He finished in a
three-way tie for second in the 1978 Masters. He joined the Senior
PGA Tour in 1983, winning three titles. |
Harry Givan
Inducted: 1970
Winner of every
Northwest amateur golfing honor during his distinguised career, he
also vanquished the professionals to capture many open tournaments.
Highlight of his clubswinging years, however, was his selection to
the United States Walker Cup team in 1933. |
Pat Lesser-Harbottle
Inducted: 1999
Recognized as
one of the all-time woman amateur golf greats, her career honors
include U.S. Junior champion in 1950, National Collegiate champion
in 1953, U.S. National Amateur champion in 1955, Western Amateur
winner in 1955, member of the prestigious Curtis Cup team, three
time PNGA winner, member of the Seattle U. men’s team, PNGA Hall of
Fame and holder of over 50 titles in a half-century of competition. |
Anne Quast Sander
Inducted: 1997
Truly one of
the nation's foremost woman amateur golfers. Her distinguised career
includes numerous state, national and world title's including the
Woman's British Amateur championship in 1980, the USGA Woman's title
in 1958-61-63, the USGA Woman's Senior Amateur championship in
1987-89-90 and an eight-year member of the prestigious Curtis Cup
team. |

Ken Still
Inducted: 1994
Winner of three
major pro golf championships and a member of the Ryder Cup team, the
Tacoma native is considered one of the state’s top all-time golfers.
Over a four-decade career, his national titles include the Florida
Citrus Open and the Milwaukee Open in 1969 and the Kaiser
International in 1970. |
Marvin "Bud" Ward
Inducted: 1963
He grew up in
Elma and Olympia and vaulted into the national golfing prominence by
winning back-to-back U.S. Amateur titles before finally turning
professional in California. By that time, he had swept the boards
clean in Pacific Northwest competition, in addition to gaining a
berth on the U.S. Walker Cup team. |
Jack Westland
Inducted: 1983
A charter member
of the Pacific Northwest Golf Hall of Fame. The Everett native won
the Washington State Amateur title three times, the PNGA
championship four times, the 1929 French Amateur, two Walker Cup
matches and the 1931 U.S. Amateur. He later served as a U.S.
Congressman. |
